Key Responsibilities

  1. Team Leadership & Mentorship
    • Lead and manage the RBC (Risk-Based Capital) and ALM (Asset-Liability Management) actuarial team, providing technical guidance and career development support to junior staff.
  2. Solvency Management
    • Oversee RBC-driven solvency management frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk appetite.
  3. ALM & Stochastic Modeling
    • Design, validate, and maintain robust ALM models and stochastic forecasting tools to project future financial outcomes under various scenarios.
  4. Asset-Liability Monitoring
    • Regularly assess asset-liability matching metrics (e.g., duration gaps, liquidity ratios) and propose hedging/rebalancing strategies to optimize financial stability.
  5. Fund Segregation Mechanisms
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish science-based segregation frameworks for participating and non-participating funds, ensuring transparency and fairness.
  6. Performance Analysis & Optimization
    • Conduct deep-dive analyses on RBC/ALM outcomes (e.g., reasonableness, volatility, trend analysis) and develop actionable plans to enhance key metrics.
  7. Documentation & Process Improvement
    • Standardize control documentation for RBC, ALM, and fund segregation; refine models, templates, and workflows to drive operational efficiency.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Financial Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Professional Qualifications:
    • Associate-level accreditation from a recognized actuarial body (e.g., SOA/CAS, IFoA, Actuaries Institute Australia, or CAA China).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in life insurance actuarial roles, with a focus on RBC, ALM, or capital modeling.
    • Proven experience leading/managing actuarial teams.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Advanced knowledge of financial modeling, reserving, risk management, embedded value calculations, ALM, and actuarial software (e.g., CROSS, RBC frameworks, IFRS 17 compliance tools).
  • Soft Skills:
    • Exceptional communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex concepts to senior management.
    • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and statistical abilities to drive data-driven decisions.
